Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Director who is board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics to join their dynamic healthcare team. The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, managing, and supervising health care services offered in our clients medical centers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, organize, and supervise the roles of the Center PCPs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify physician recruitment needs and collaborate in the hiring and contracting processes.
- Establish work schedules and assignments for medical staff based on workload, space, equipment, and center needs.
- Oversee daily operations of physician services, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Foster strong relationships with specialists, hospitalists, and other providers to enhance senior population health services.
- Monitor medical performance and provide guidance to maintain quality care and cost-effective utilization practices.
- Develop, revise, and implement policies, procedures, and standards for health care services.
- Represent the organization in community and marketing events, promoting community engagement.
- Assess, develop, and recommend strategies for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cultivate an effective relationship with all departments providing medical guidance and expertise.
- Identify trends of over- and under-utilization and implement action plans for improvement.
- Direct and orient physicians in the correct application of approved guidelines.
- Oversee the operations of wellness activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited MD or DO program.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- 8 or more years of clinical practice experience.
- 5 or more years of management experience.
- Licensed in Alabama or willing to obtain.
- Willingness to undergo TB screening due to patient-facing duties.
- Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicare Advantage Global Risk Models.
- Experience working in medically underserved or culturally diverse communities.
- Knowledge of HEDIS/STARS and CAHPS/HOS.
- Experience working in medically underserved or culturally diverse communities.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
