The Psychiatric-Mental Health Physician provides specialized care for adult patients in an inpatient facility. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, managing psychopharmacologic and non-psychopharmacologic interventions, and maintaining patient progress notes on a daily basis. This position requires a licensed psychiatrist in Connecticut, available for a full-time schedule with a manageable patient load and short call responsibilities.

Schedule: 830am-430pm M-F.
Short call system: Doctors are asked to do a short call approximately once per week. The “early doctor†relieves the overnight moonlighter and therefore must be on campus by 8am. The “late doctor†stays until 5pm or when the moonlighter arrives. The “late doctor†is responsible for processing up to one admission arriving on campus prior to 4pm.
Case Load: The caseload is generally limited to 12 patients (with rare exceptions in unusual circumstances)
Responsibility: Psychiatrist is responsible for developing the treatment plan, to include psychopharmacologic and non-psychopharmacologic interventions and estimated length of stay. Patients are seen daily M-F and a progress note is required daily M-F
