Responsibilities: - Diagnose and treat disorders of the foot, ankle and leg.
- Evaluate patient concerns and assign corrective shoe inserts, design casts and strapping to correct deformities, research and design custom-made shoes.
- Prescribe medication and supervise physical therapy.
- Order x-rays and laboratory tests; prepare and maintain clinical records.
- Establish policies and procedures regarding podiatric care for the residents at the facility.
- Provide consultation and assessment, determine treatment plans and monitor therapy.
- Advise and make recommendations to clinical staff concerning podiatric needs of residents, including professional issues, procedures, supplies and equipment.
