About the Program
The Buddy Program by The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) connects volunteers with Ukrainian newcomers to foster meaningful friendships and provide a welcoming environment as they adapt to life in North America. Whether you’re in a bustling city or connecting remotely, your role as a buddy can create lasting bonds and make a difference.
What You’ll Do as a Buddy
- Be a Friend: Forge a connection with a Ukrainian participant, sharing stories, interests, and experiences.
- Offer Guidance: Provide practical tips about local resources, services, and day-to-day life in your city.
- Explore Together or Virtually: Join your buddy in discovering the city, practicing conversational skills, or simply enjoying a chat over coffee (in-person or online).
- Create a Welcoming Space: Share your culture and learn about theirs while offering emotional support.

Sign Up: Fill out the Buddy Volunteer Sign-Up Form: Sign Up Here. Get Paired: We’ll match you with a Ukrainian newcomer based on shared interests and location (or connect you online if remote). Start the Journey: Begin meeting your buddy, sharing your knowledge, and creating a friendship.
