Responsibilities: - Provide on-site psychiatric care and consultative services for Individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Evaluate patients and advise on psychiatric treatment.
- Provide psychiatric assessments based on observations and interactions with the patients.
- Ensure the evaluations and assessments are clear and concise and convey all pertinent information.
- Participate in the development of treatment plans and case management.
- Provide electronic prescriptions for psychotropic drugs for patients as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and prescribe pharmaceutical intervention as necessary.
- Monitoring positive and negative effects of psychotropic medications prescribed.
- Mediate admissions of patients to a psychiatric inpatient unit, if necessary.
- Review prospective patient transfer.
- Provide in-service programs to increase the knowledge of staff providing care and treatment and attend any specified training that is deemed necessary.
