Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, administering employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. You will work closely with HR, Accounting, and employees to ensure accurate payroll processing and timely resolution of benefits-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration:
- Process and maintain accurate payroll for all employees in a timely manner.
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on schedule, including deductions, garnishments, and bonuses.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure proper allocation of payroll funds.
- Review and update payroll records to reflect employee changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, pay increases, etc.).
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Ensure compliance with benefit eligibility requirements and deadlines.
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions and concerns, ensuring clear communication of benefit options and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of employee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefit updates to employees.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits laws, including tax withholding, FMLA, and ACA regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports related to payroll and benefits for management, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant labor laws, payroll, and benefits regulations.
- General Administration:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll and benefits records.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end documents such as W-2s and benefits summaries.
- Handle administrative tasks related to employee onboarding and offboarding concerning payroll and benefits.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
