The Registered Nurse (RN) I for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is involved in supervising nursing care for infants and coordinating total patient care with interdisciplinary teams. This short-term night assignment offers a flat rate compensation with a commitment to family-centered care and ongoing education in neonatal protocols. Applicants must possess relevant NICU experience and hold a current Oklahoma RN license.

- $65 flat rate
- 13 week assignment with the possibility to extend, if needed.

Norman Regional Health System Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 25 bed Level III unit with a Neonatal Ground Transport Team. We focus on family-centered care. We have 5 Neonatologist on staff.
Responsibilities:
- supervises nursing care, and in collaboration with the physician
- coordinates total patient care for patients by leading and directing an interdisciplinary care teams
- cares for infants
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associates degree (ADN) required,
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Must have at least 1 year NICU Level III or higher acuity experience.
- Along with previous work history reflecting stable employment.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
Other Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must participate in Perinatal Continuing Education Program (PCEP) when offered at that hospital.
- Must complete STABLE program within 1 year of hire and maintained if offered at NRHS.
- Must attend breastfeeding classes as offered.
- Must attend required teach weeks/skills fairs and participate in emergency drills while on the job.
