Role Summary
Our client, a leader in renewable and conventional power generation, is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to directly support the day-to-day accounting functions for operational entities and other related business units. As the company transitions to a sustainable development strategy, focusing on renewable energy sources such as solar PV, battery storage, and wind, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of energy while expanding the finance team with seasoned professionals.
This is a non-remote role that requires the candidate to work onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Review credit agreements, depositary agreements, and other project contracts to ensure compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
- Organize monthly management meetings and serve as the liaison with international equity partners.
- Prepare and present budgets, financial statements, and ad hoc accounting reports to senior management.
- Generate GAAP financial statements for client entities and maintain partners’ capital accounts in line with operating agreements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure the accurate preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and payments.
- Monitor and manage bank accounts with various financial institutions, overseeing treasury functions for corporate and subsidiaries.
- Consolidate subsidiaries' cash forecasts, process intercompany transfers, and manage revolver lines of credit.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting or finance; CPA is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (financial modeling experience preferred).
- Experience with hedge accounting and variance/trend analysis.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with a keen attention to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and dependable, with an exceptional work ethic.
- Experience in energy, construction, or real estate industries preferred, but not required.
- Oracle NetSuite experience is required.
