ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.
We are currently looking for a Business Insights Analyst to leverage analytical skills, statistical techniques, and business expertise to uncover patterns, trends, and root causes of business challenges, driving actionable insights and improvement opportunities. As a Business Insights Analyst you will contribute to the development, evaluation, and integration of machine learning models that align with business goals and enhance operational efficiency and serves as a thought leader, guiding business units in harnessing data for strategic advantage and translates complex analyses into clear, concise narratives for non-technical stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making.
What will you do:
Use analytical skills and statistical techniques combined with business knowledge/expertise to identify patterns and trends and drivers/ root causes of problems to identify and quantify business improvement opportunities.
Actively participates in the development and optimization of machine learning (ML) models by working closely with Data Scientists to develop, evaluate, and integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence models, ensuring alignment with business goals and process improvements
Collaborates with business stakeholders and technology teams, to identify business needs and develop data & analytics strategies. Collaborates with engineering and product development teams to ensure that data science solutions align with business goals.
Translate complex findings and analyses into simple, understandable narratives for non-technical audiences. Create concise summaries, presentations and reports that highlight key findings and recommendations.
Conduct ad hoc analysis and research to answer complex business questions and support decision-making
What you need to be successful:
A BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
Post-graduate studies in relevant field will be considered an asset
3-6 years of working experience in a Data Science, Machine Learning or analytics role
Good understanding of business operations to help make informed decisions and recommendations
Strong knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL.
Understanding of data modeling and predictive modeling techniques
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to uncover trends, insights and identify areas of opportunity
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, business intelligence platforms (Preferably Power BI)
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and evaluate multiple solutions to a problem
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data analysis and reporting
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organization, and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Strong skills to interpret data and communicate insights in a non-technical manner
Commitment to continuous learning and development, and staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in business analytics and insights
Knowledge of SQL, Python, PySpark, Azure, GIT
