National Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Clerk to join our family-oriented therapy practice in a remote capacity. Specializing in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric speech and language disorders, gross and fine motor delays, learning differences, and behavioral challenges, we pride ourselves on offering comprehensive therapy solutions that meet the needs of both children and their families. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play an integral role in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, facilitating effective communication across our therapy teams, and supporting our mission to provide quality care to families across our community.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care and treatment interventions within electronic health record systems.
- Support the scheduling of patient appointments and manage follow-up communications with families and caregivers.
- Assist therapy staff with documentation processes and ensure timely completion of reports.
- Process incoming patient referrals and verify insurance information as needed.
- Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care.
- Monitor and report on the status of medical records requests and follow up as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management preferred.
- Proven experience in medical records management or administrative support in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in data entry and document management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
