The Role: In a Nutshell
Reporting to the Director of Human Capital you will play a vital role in supporting and executing various HR functions within the organization. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality HR services and programs, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive employee experience. This role requires a versatile HR professional who can handle a wide range of responsibilities and contribute to the overall success of the HR department and the organization.
Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
Own the onboarding process, ensuring new employees have a smooth organizational transition.
Execute the logistics of the onboarding process while simultaneously assessing it and ensuring the process is optimized for maximum efficiency.
Collaborate across the organization and align with different managers on what is needed to effectively onboard employees into their departments.
Offboarding:
Manage the offboarding process, including scheduling exit interviews, collecting feedback, sending appropriate separation paperwork, and ensuring all final documentation is completed.
Coordinate with IT to revoke access to company systems, email accounts, and tools promptly.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate processing of final paychecks and benefits termination.
Conduct follow-up surveys to gather insights into employee experiences and identify areas for improvement in retention and culture.
Employee Relations:
Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints and ensure fair and equitable resolutions.
Promote a positive work environment and support employee engagement initiatives.
Communicates employee concerns and feedback to leadership as needed.
Employee Engagement:
Oversee the creation, distribution, and analysis of employee engagement surveys in TINYpulse to gather actionable insights and drive workplace improvements.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate company-wide meetings to ensure effective communication and engagement.
Organize and champion Culture Club activities to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with company values.
Maintain and update the Employee Happiness Page to highlight key resources, events, and programs.
Host weekly HR Office Hours to address employee questions, concerns, and feedback, fostering open communication and trust.
Lead leadership development initiatives and mentor programs to cultivate managerial and leadership skills across the organization.
Performance Management:
Support the Senior HR Leadership in the performance appraisal process and ensure documentation is consistent.
Work with Talent Management and Department Leaders to ensure ongoing coaching and feedback are used to enhance employee performance and productivity.
Partner with Department Leaders to design and execute employee success plans.
Compliance and Policies:
Maintain up to date on labor laws and regulations.
Support senior leadership in ensuring company policies and procedures are in compliance with legal requirements.
Leave of Absence Management:
Serve as liaison with employees and vendors to administer and oversee leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA and other relevant programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maintaining precise records.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
Deep knowledge of HR laws, regulations and best practices.
At least 3 years' experience administering HR Systems and tools.
Project Management skills- able to demonstrate past experiences with keeping projects on track and moving forward to completion.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Active listening skills.
Skilled at working across departments to deliver results.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
A builder - someone with experience building and operationalizing processes.
Experience working in a fast-paced, remote environment - ideally start-up experience.
Bachelor's Degree/ HR Certification (PHR/SHRM-CP) preferred.
