We are seeking a seasoned marketer to join our growing team as VP of Marketing with expertise as a 360 marketer to lead and accelerate our business through this remarkable expansion. As the leader of the Marketing Department, a strategic position within our Leadership Team, you will lead and motivate the team responsible for driving the promotion of Apothékary. You will play a pivotal role in bringing together all channels across Marketing (retention, growth, retail, and brand) to deliver a cohesive, inspiring Making Everyday Second Nature® experience at each touchpoint and to drive customer acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation.

This experienced individual will report directly to the Founder & CEO and serve as the primary point of contact and leader for all of our marketing and creative teams. They will also work closely with the digital and operations team to develop 360 marketing campaigns across a robust product roadmap. This is a highly visible and impactful role that requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
Responsibilities:
Marketing:
- Deliver eCommerce Marketing strategies to accelerate growth and building enduring relationships through relevant, customer-centric content on Apothekary.co
- Lead the Influencer Program to turn Apothékary fans into an enduring community of lifelong advocates
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy (short and long term) aligned with the company's goals, driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, leveraging financial acumen and strategic insights to optimize resource allocation, maximize return on investment, and deliver cost-effective marketing campaigns
- Take our brand to the next level through differentiated positioning, creative and awareness-driving tactics
- Create and lead the Health & Wellness Sales and Affiliate Program to create a world class salesforce of herb and plant medicine advocates helping to spread the mission and voice of Apothékary to our global community
- Operate a world-class social media presence that drives Making Everyday Healing Second Nature® brand awareness and build brand affinity around Japanese wellness concepts across platforms
- Drive Direct to Customer programs to engage our subscribers through personalized and relevant content, driving qualified traffic to retail partners and Apothekary.com
- Deliver Retail Marketing strategies to attract new customers, build enduring relationships, and drive conversion through an elevated in-store experience with existing and new retail partners
- Develop Apothékary as a thought leader in the wellness space, strengthening the brand’s reputation through innovative campaigns, partnerships, and media outreach.
- Oversee and bring to life various Events and Experiences that inspire our clients, excite our people, and position Apothékary as a world-class “Japanese wellness” brand
- Work directly with our growth and paid media teams to accelerate new customer growth (goal: 60/40 new and returning customer rate at any given moment)
- Oversee our Amazon channel to continuously improve and accelerate that channel across new customer acquisition and retention across key SKU’s
- Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Advise and work with the Marketing, Creative, and Digital teams to ensure all product claims satisfy Marketing needs and key benefits while balancing language to meet FDA minimums
- Lead, mentor, manage, and hire a dynamic marketing team, fostering collaboration & innovation, professional development and a high-performance culture
- Drive innovation across the team by identifying and testing new areas of opportunity for growth. Stay current with the latest marketing trends and technologies and provide thought leadership to the organization
- Work cross functionally with department heads to align on product development, digital strategies, data, marketing campaigns, and product / brand launches, partnerships, retail, and broader company goals
- Set clear KPIs and monitor performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to meet objectives
- A BS/BA in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience in marketing leadership roles will also be considered. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in multi-channel Marketing in a comparable business

Time and Location:
The role is full-time and fully remote but we hope to find a candidate based in New York City. For this position you must be available during a portion of our core hours between 9am - 5pm EST with some flexibility depending on your preference/time zone. While some flexibility will be allowed, this role will work closely in collaboration with our Founder & CEO and marketing teams, who work primarily during those hours.
This position is available to start immediately. Note that job responsibilities may change based on the company’s evolving needs.
