Job Description:
The Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research RN directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination and collaboration as appropriate to maintain adherence to protocol guidelines. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research RN conducts and completes assessments of clinical trials compliance and reports required data to appropriate regulatory bodies in a timely and accurate manner. Activities may also include direct patient interactions during active treatment, gathering information necessary to report to the clinical trials, monitoring patients during the follow-up period after the conclusion of the study, and accurate reporting of all necessary data.
Confers with the clinical care team to communicate, assist with research related issues, develop and provide education to staff members, and facilitate protocol adherence.
Completes and maintains study records including logs, materials, and databases to ensure compliance with study protocols, FDA, IRB, departmental, institutional, and university regulations.
Oncology RN clinical experience, OR research experience as study coordinator, clinical research coordinator, or data manager.
Proficient in computer systems and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, search engines, and able to use digital communication effectively.
Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team using good communication, listening, problem-solving, adaptability, conflict resolution, inclusivity, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage workloads efficiently ensuring that the most critical tasks are addressed first, have good time management, and be flexible to adjust priorities as new tasks arise or when circumstances change.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and personnel associated with research projects that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
