The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Health Protection, Health Care Regulation & Quality Improvement Section (HCRQI)/EMS & Trauma Systems unit in Portland, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for a Professional Standards Representative (Compliance Specialist 1) to coordinate the flow and process prequalification determination as specified in SB 1552, by obtaining criminal background checks, drafting written notices prior to final determination, and issuing written notices of final determination.
This is a full-time, permanent, classified position which is represented by a union. This recruitment may be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current or future vacancies.
What will you do?
As the Compliance Specialist 1 you will draft and issue written notices of the flow and process prequalification, determined as specified in SB 1552, through criminal background checks in collaboration with: Compliance Specialist 3’s within EMS Trauma Systems Program Professional Standards Unit.
This position will also assist with compiling complaint intake information as it relates to investigations, review of criminal histories and court records, and review initial and renewal applications to determine eligibility for licensure of EMS providers, ambulance services, and ambulance vehicles.
This position will require a comprehensive understanding and application of statute and rules associated with professional standards for EMS providers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two years’ experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide eligibility or compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience, based on 45-quarter units per year of experience.

A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Public Administration or a related field.

Working Conditions: Hybrid
The work of this role may be conducted remotely with full access to the needed operating systems and technology. There are times that the work will need to be conducted onsite. This position will need VPN remote access and will need access to Web LEDs. This position may involve in-state or out-of-state travel requiring overnight stays as well as evening and weekend work.
It should be noted that Professional Standards Representatives may have contact with hostile
individuals e.g. subjects of and witnesses in investigations.
