The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in this temporary role provides comprehensive care for pediatric patients with both acute and chronic conditions. This position involves collaboration with a supervising physician for patient assessments and treatment planning, while also participating in medical rounds and quality initiatives. Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree, NP or PA license, and relevant pediatric experience to ensure effective patient care.
TEMPORARY POSITION
This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:- Providing care to infants, children, adolescents and families for management of acute and chronic illnesses requiring intensive nursing and medical supports but not requiring the ICU.
- Collaborating with the supervising physician to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems.
- Participating in the ICP medical rounds, including the presentation of clinical information, the progress and management of patients, and assisting in establishing and implementing treatment plans.
- Participating in or leading quality and safety initiatives and research in the ICP.
- Offering expertise as consultant and educator to nursing staff.
- 36 hours, day/night rotation and every 3rd weekend rotations, 12 hour shifts, through end of August.
- To qualify, you must have:
- A minimum of 2+ years inpatient pediatric experience with preference for those with experience in caring for higher acuity or higher complexity patients
- 1+ year of Pediatric NP or PA experience preferred
- Would consider new graduate nurse practitioner with recent pediatric inpatient RN experience
- Master’s Degree with current NP or PA license, BLS and PALS certification
