aCT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team atMedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center!
The ideal candidate will bea certified CT Technologist who exhibits professionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service, while interacting with patients, guests, and coworkers, as well as the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds and maintain patient confidentiality.
As aCT Technologist, you willperform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment, as necessary.

Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable. Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures. Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film transmits to PACS. Charge procedures and supplies correctly. Assists in the administration and administers various chemical substances to render specific organs or systems opaquer. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained. Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students. Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration. Maintain accurate patient records. Assist with providing orientation and training to new CT technologists.
Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards.
