DescriptionSummary:
The Radiology Technologist Assistant provides continuous support of patient flow through the radiology department. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for transporting patients from units and/or cars in an expeditious manner. Transfer patients to and from units to the radiology procedural suite as directed by Radiologic Technologist. Assist technologist and/or radiologist with basic patient care as directed. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Demonstrates customer service excellence by anticipating and responding to the needs of patients, providers, employees, and other customers.
- Provides support of patient flow through the radiology department.
- Responsible and accountable for environmental safety, cleanliness, and infection control practices and standards compliance of assigned areas.
- Assist with order entry/data processing, report retrieval, and CD burning as needed.
- Assist Radiologic Technologist or/and Radiologist prior to and during a procedure by setting up the necessary supplies and equipment on a sterile field.
- Demonstrates adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health Care.
- Follows department guidelines while transporting patients. The patient is protected from possible injury by the use of side rails. Patient privacy is protected by fully covering the patient; the patient’s dignity and comfort are always considered.
- Assist personnel in the department in moving patients, holding patients, and preparing patients for exams.
- Properly transfers patients to and from department without causing unnecessary delays in workflow or unnecessary waiting time for patient.
- Helps clean aprons, gloves, and accessories as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
