Job Purpose
Are you a talented content writer with a keen eye for detail, a passion for accuracy, and a drive to create compelling, high-performing content? Legal Templates is looking for a skilled writer and editor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to craft content that informs, drives traffic, and converts. You will be expected to write a minimum of four articles (1000 to 2000 words) per week in addition to smaller assignments including editing and light refreshes.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Director of Content and Content Manager, the ideal candidate will:
- Be Proficient in our SEO and Editorial Guidelines: Quickly learn and apply our SEO best practices, editorial processes, and brand voice to create cohesive and compelling content.
- Write and Optimize Content: Create new content and refresh existing pages, focusing on SEO best practices and 10Xing the impact of our materials.
- Edit and Proofread: Review and refine submissions from freelance writers to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to guidelines.
- Fact-Check for Accuracy: Guarantee that all content is legally accurate and up-to-date working with our internal subject matter experts/
- Collaborate and Adapt: Work seamlessly within a fast-paced, collaborative team.
- Stay Open to Feedback: Be coachable, flexible, and eager to refine your craft based on input.
- Utilize Tools Effectively: Manage content updates in WordPress and optimize metadata and keywords to enhance performance.
Requirements
- Experience as a content writer (5 to 7 years) with a strong portfolio showcasing your writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proven ability to create and optimize content for SEO, including keyword research, targeting, and metadata refinement.
- Solid understanding of WordPress and proficiency with Google Docs.
- Ability to notice errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to thrive in a high-volume workload environment.
- Adaptability, critical thinking, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Experience working on legal content, with samples to demonstrate expertise.
- Be based in the USA, no any visa sponsorship required
Bonus Skills
- Expertise in a legal field in the USA
- Familiarity with Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Trello, and Monday
