Our programs are based on a proven, nationally recognized model, which originated in our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a National Blue Ribbon School.

Job Overview
The Managing Director of Elementary School Academics is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of the academic programs and initiatives for elementary school grades within the organization. This role ensures the delivery of rigorous, engaging curriculum that aligns with the school's mission and educational standards. The Managing Director will work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to enhance instructional practices, improve student outcomes, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. This position reports to the Chief Academic Officer.

- High confidence in ability to help most students reach grade level or above achievement, regardless of background
- At ease with best practices for elementary school teachers across content areas: ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science
- Delivers feedback that is timely, objective, direct and constructive
- Considers the whole adult and the whole child when using data to make decisions
- Gravitates towards high accountability environments
- Traditional learning regarding educational practices (direct instruction, frequent assessment and homework, etc.)
- Open to moderate travel (organization has several school sites)
- Willingness to work on site (some remote work is possible)
Priority Responsibilities
- Support school principals with curriculum and assessment implementation
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of instructional programs and materials, making adjustments as necessary
- Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum and assessment
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional practices, and identify areas for improvement
- Identify needed resources and facilitate their acquisition
- Manage small group of support personnel
- Base salary $150,000. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
