The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 13.5 million members and customers across 14 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Basic Job Description):
Travel Planners and Vacation Designers are responsible for selling travel to AAA Members and non-Members in a professional and service-oriented manner while supporting the ACG preferred partner program. Participants in this role answer incoming phone calls, respond to Internet inquiries and initiate outbound calls to sell air, car, hotel, cruise and tour travel services to AAA members and other clients, abiding by the policies and procedures of AAA Auto Club Group and the Travel Agency business unit.
Total Compensation Overview
- Auto Club Group Travel Planners earn a competitive base salary of $15.50 per hour to start along with performance-based incentives.
- Average 1st and 2nd year earnings $45,000+
- Average 3rd year earnings $57,000+
- Full time, paid training

Required Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
- Previous successful sales experience
- Basic geography knowledge with ability to locate travel destinations worldwide including ability to read maps and use travel related tools (i.e. directional cues)
- Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Must be organized with ability to manage time effectively
- Previous experience in goal-oriented sales position
- Ability to troubleshoot minor computer issues on own
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must qualify, obtain, and maintain all applicable state licenses required for selling and/or servicing The Auto Club Group products as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
- Prior travel industry experience including expertise in travel applications such as Galileo/Apollo or similar reservation systems
- General travel industry knowledge and terminology
- Shown ability to provide premium sales and service in a call center environment
- Prior work from home experience
- Intermediate level or higher PC and internet knowledge especially concerning Microsoft Suite
- Professional telephone etiquette skills
- Personal travel experiences
- Performing mathematical calculations accurately
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Perform as part of a team and individual to the success of all
- Ability to operate efficiently in a multi-channel (phone, email, and chat) environment while maintaining positive and professional enthusiasm and energy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced detailed oriented environment while maintaining accuracy in digital records
- Detailed oriented with effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet and exceed established performance goals
Work Environment:
Work from home environment meeting the following requirements.
Schedules include mornings and evenings and operate on weekends and holidays.
Schedules will be based on business needs, and usually rotate a set schedule every two weeks. Multiple close shifts in a week are required (11:30AM – 8:00PM EST). Saturdays are on a rotation, and you are anticipated to work multiple Saturdays a month. Day off during during the week when you work Saturday.
All schedule requirements are subject to change based on business needs. During training you will be expected to work Monday thru Friday and an eight-hour shift between 9:00AM – 8:00PM EST.
Home Office Requirements include:
- A designated quiet workspace free from interruptions and distractions
- Workspace large enough for 2 monitors, pc, and phone
- 100mb per second high-speed Internet with ability to connect a computer and phone line directly into a modem
- Two Ethernet cords long enough to reach from modem/router to designated home office workspace
- Personal smart device with ability to download company apps for network access
- Personal laptop or computer for initial orientations and training until arrival of ACG equipment (Chrome book or tablets will not provide system requirements needed)
