About Us

Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services (LCBHS) is a private, not-for-profit community mental health agency serving Southeastern South Dakota. For over four decades, we've been a trusted partner in offering comprehensive, integrated behavioral health services across the region—including counseling, crisis care, recovery support, and outpatient treatment—to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay

What We Offer

  • Individualized Behavioral Health Services: Outpatient counseling for youth, adults, families, and couples, performed by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, nurses, psychiatrists, interns, and more
  • Crisis Intervention & Stabilization: 24/7 access to crisis response via hotline, walk-in services at the CORE Center, inpatient stabilization, and outreach programs—available regardless of financial circumstances
  • Addiction Recovery Support: Through our EBEL Recovery Center, we offer a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment—detox, medically monitored residential programs, counseling, family education, and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)—grounded in the latest evidence and delivered confidentially
  • CARE Club: A member-driven, peer-supported rehabilitative program for adults living with mental illness that emphasizes strengths, choice, leadership opportunities, and community integration
